The night my computer crashed

The best intentions are always fraught with ill results.

On the 28th of January 2005, my elder brother whom I love so much crashed the computer. He did not mean to do so. This I know because he was trying to install a programme into the computer for me to use. The crashing caused a lot of problems for him because he had to spend almost the whole weekend getting the darn thing fixed. And if I am not wrong, the computer is still not exactly at its full capacity. But I love him all the same for getting the computer fixed within such a short time frame. :)

This crashing and burning of the PC caused me to lose all the files and photos and what not that I had stored over a period of about 7 – 8 months. Sadly, I did not have any back-ups made because I did not think that the computer would crash due to the fact that the thing is very new, by my standards anyway.

Praise God that the crashing did not take place during or before the e-Revision exercise. If not I would be crying my head off and I would not be bald. Right, Yang Mui?

Anyway, I am now on the long road to recovering all the files that were lost in the accident. Have to re-download all the programmes, like MSN, ICQ, etc. And I have to get back all those files related to my studies at S.I.M. to get myself ready for the coming Mock exams and soon to be ‘Official’ exams in late May/ early June…oh gosh~ Long nights will I spend on the internet…*sigh* …den again, isn’t that what I have been doing for the past few months? o.O’’’ – migumi laughter-

Another thing I can praise God for is: all my creative works, not counting my drawings were posted on my blog prior to the ‘crashing’ so they have all been saved on the net. I tell you ah~ If not for my blogsite, I would have extremely red eyes. The neighborhood would be filled with the sound of my wailing and the house would be knee high in tissue paper! My creative stuff is my pride and joy man~ Once I get inspired to do something, I can never get back that same feeling/ emotion to do it, or rather write it, again. That’s why they mean so much to me…Praise God for my blogsite! Woohooo~
Plus! The computer now has the works! This includes sound and all the other stuff, which it previously did not have. – more migumi laughter-

I never realized how much I depend on the computer until I was not able to use it. I missed chatting with my friends online.
I missed playing computer games.
I missed wasting my time on the computer.
I missed looking at the photos I took with my friends.
I missed typing my blog entries.
Hack! I even missed fighting with TKM over the darn thing! -.-;;;

I have learnt my lesson, though it remains to be seen whether I will remember it or not X.x . I have learnt that I must have back-ups for all my work and that Man does not live by bread alone.
To quote my brother:
Man does not live my bread alone, but by thumb drive and diskette. :p

Alright, nuff of my ramblings for now…
To whipping my PC back into shape,
Cheers! ^-^

Nose bleed

“Anduril, Flame of the West, forged from the shards of Narsil. The man who wields the power of this sword can summon to him an army more deadly than any that walk this earth.”

“Sauron will not have forgotten this sword...”

“Put aside the ranger. Become who you were born to be!”

- Elrond to Aragorn, at Dunharrow

Headaches abound. Have been having a rather bad one for most of the afternoon and evening. During Stats class and on the bus ride home. During dinner and so on. Very sickening.~ I really hope that I don’t have a similar one tomorrow coz I have lessons the whole day. I honestly don’t want to be in pain while Dr. Wong is talking. That would distract me from the lesson and I like sociology too much. I also don’t want to be rubbing my head or have my head on the table during Economics , while Uncle Ting is talking coz those actions are reserved for nodding off…buah ahahahaha~

Yesterday morning, I got a nose bleed.
The funny thing is that I haven had one is ages. I used to have my nose run like a tap when I was I young. That was due to the fact that the veins in my nose were not thick enough. Hence, whenever I ate durian or anything heaty I would end up with blood running down the front of my face. Heh~
I fell off the bed once when I was younger, when I woke up…I was lying in a poll of blood… and my Dad said he though he heard a bomb drop…
Remember when you were in primary school? Whole day play nothing but ‘crocodile’ during recess time? Well, once while I was playing it before school with my friends, some one pushed me or I fell…can’t remember that well… and I fell and hit my nose on the boards …resulting in a flash flood of blood. My white blouse got covered in it and I had to continue classes in that uniform…come to think of it… I think I think I look more like I murdered someone before going to class O.o;;;
Such fond memories I have…*sigh*
Therefore! Because of the sudden nose bleed, I conclude that my body is too heaty and I need to drink: Jia Jia Liang Teh ! buah ahahhahahahha…Wonder what Shi Min will say to that tomorrow morning… - migumi laughter-

Finally got the e-Revision thing done! Wooohoooo~ Do you know how much hair I pulled out during the selection process?!?!?

Oh yeah! I have the results of my promotion! I have six sense! I din get double …*sob*…but at least I passed.  And I don have to spar for my next grading…heh~

That’s it! I have to start studying liao… Mocks are in less than a month… Sharon shall become a hermit once more! ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH~~~~ Shar-mit shall be my new name… you like?! x.X’’’

Cherios for now~

Suntec with JCYY & JTTC

“It'll be spring back in the Shire... the fields will be blossoming, and the birds'll be nesting, and they'll be planting the summer barley in the lower fields, and they'll be eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries, Mr. Frodo?”

“No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food, nor the sound of water, nor the touch of grass. I'm naked in the dark... there's nothing, no veil between me and the wheel of fire, I can see him with my waking eyes!”

“Then let us be rid of it! I can't carry the ring for you, but I can carry you!”

- Sam to Frodo, on the slopes of Mount Doom

The poking is still there...but i don care! XP

Out with Yingz today…went from PS to Suntec…
She was supposed to be there at 12.30pm and I was supposed to meet her at 1.30pm. We planned it such because:
Ying is always late.
I am always early.
Going by that formula, we would be able to meet at 1pm sharp. Sadly, the plan backfired and I was early …ended up strolling around Carrefour waiting for her to arrive at Plaza Singapura. -_-‘’’
After checking out a few store at that venue, we melted under the sun on our saunter to Cityhall MRT station. The sun is really out in full force these days the bloody weather man is not doing his job! *grrrrrrrrrr….*
City Link was a refreshing place after all that absorbing of heat. Hobbled some more all the way to Suntec whilst hoping in and out of shops.
Suntec was where we spent the rest of our time.
Perlini's Silver got my business! New earrlings for me at 50% off!
Must go to Daniel Yam to get a dress for a special occasion..more on that anotehr day...-migumi laughter-
I was hoping that some of my stinginess would rub off on Yingz, but what to do? I suppose it will take a while before I can convert her into a miser like me…when it comes to clothes and accessories. She does have a soft spot for: clothes, shoes, necklaces, earrings, glasses, make-up, watches and bags…come to think of it…she spends a lot of money on everything. O.O
We landed up having dinner at Pasta Mania…actually I ate and she watched me. Heh~ Joyce rushed down from her new job and we crazy with conversations.
Saw someone from school as well… Jordan Chew… Not Jordan Chew Ying ying…she was hanging out with me…kakakakkakaka~ XD
Once again, I was late for cell group but I took the bus…Joyce should take her lucky stars I took the bus…if not 5 dollars fly out of her wallet…haha
Ending the day at cell group is still a great add on for the day. :)
So here I am typing my day out… thinking about what I am going to do tomorrow and praying that the headache will go away… it was still a good day.

Sleeping early is starting not to be an option….hrm….better start soon…

The signing up for revision class starts tomorrow….oh gosh~ The mocks are coming!!!!!
–hides under the bed-

I will be doing marketing on my own in the morning… SIM TKD training + photo taking…den Paya Lebar Kovan TKD training…looking forward to an energy sapping day… The Lord is my strength! Wooooohoooooo~

Parvy Warvy :
“yo! twas delightful tt sat! we shall do this every month, ay?”
Every month? I would love to! But I think we can only start after June, coz my exams are coming… that ok with you? How’s the teaching this week? The kids more noisy or are they trying to be reborn free? Heh~

Cheers! ^-^

Brain poking

“Men of Gondor and Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship... but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when all hope comes crashing down, but it is NOT this day! This day, we fight! For all that you hold dear, stand, Men of the West! ”

- Aragorn, at the Black Gate

I have a new bag!!!! ^-^
Guess how much I paid for it?
(Yang Mui, Winnie and Pau are not allowed to answer.)
I have a new bag!!!!

Today's training was not bad, although I have a sinking feeling that I did not achieve the double promotion I so hoped for.
Oh well~ What's not meant to be will never be.
Anyway, I have to brush up on the green-tip pattern coz I have forgotten the last portion of it. As for patterns all the way until blue belt...-migumi laughter- Let me tell you what Mr. Chow said. He said that he doesn't need to turn up for training liao coz I can take over...-more migumi laughter-
The next session on Wednesday, will see all the club members coming together for the first time to take photos for the school...official pictures if you must...its going to be totally cool...looking forward to it. :D

Meeting Ying ying later… when the sun is high in the sky… I wonder what I will buy… -even more migumi laughter-
Have I lost it again?
Erm… I think it’s the headache… driving my brain into the ground…argh~
Darn all the brain poking!

Nighty nightz!

Poetry : Moonlight

The moon is so bright tonight.
Its light is not its own.
We see it for what it is because of the source.
Another which makes our eyes know humility.

I look at the moon and wonder why.
Things are the way they are.
I think of issues that make my life the way it is.

We come and go.
See what the world has made us.

Earth, we tame?
Waves proclaim we were wrong.

What was never meant to be shall never come to pass?
You closed the door.
We cannot go back anymore.
Or can we?

The sight I behold.
Waning of the moon.
Changes take place every night.
My Lord knows so much more than I do.

An inspiring testimony ~~~ ' Turning hopeless Situations Around '

I got this from an e-mail Auntie Rose sent to me.

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old
shotgun and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out and kill
something for dinner.
As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit and he shot at the rabbit and
missed it.
Then he saw squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it.
As he went further, he saw a wild turkey in the tree and he had only one
bullet, but a voice came to him and said, "Pray first, aim high and stay
focused."

However, at the same time, he saw a deer which was a better kill. He brought
the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between
his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to
shoot the rattlesnake.
Still, the voice said again to him, "I said 'Pray, aim high and stay focused
"
So, the man decided to listen to the voice.
He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey.
The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer.
The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And
when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood up to
look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and a
turkey to eat..

The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God.

Moral of the story:
Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay
focused on God.
Never let others discourage you concerning your past.
The past is exactly that: "the past."
Live every day one day at a time, and remember that only God knows our
future and that He will not put you through any more than you can bear.

Do not look to man for your blessings, but look to the doors that only He
has prepared in advance for you in your favor.
Wait, be still and patient: keep God first and everything else will follow.

Pass this on in order that someone else might be blessed.

Hot Sunday

"Begone, foul Dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the dead in peace!"

A cold voice answered: "Come not between the Nazgûl and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thee turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the lidless Eye."

A sword rang as it was drawn. "Do what you will; but I will hinder it, if I may."

"Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!"

Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ring of steel. "But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him."
- Eowyn defies the Witch King of Angmar

"I got a fever, it's hot and it can't be stop" ----- You know that cheer? Well, it was going through my head the whole of this morning and early afternoon. Not because I was trying to come up with new cheers for my kids. Not because I was doing the 'xiang dang nian' thing. Not because I was playing games with my kids. It is solely because I was having a fever. For real.
I have no idea how high the fever went but one thing is for certain. I was having a hack of a fever. How do I know? Hrmm... think back to your own experience of fevers.
When you take a shower, your body feels prickly all over ya? At the same time, you get that headache that makes mush out of your. The constant needle poking of your brain such that you feel like you have a balloon on your shoulders instead of a skull. Know what I am talking about?
Now that is the feeling I had the whole morning. That's how I knew.
Thank God I was able to do the praise and worship, go for service and even have lunch with Pauline, Winnie and Andrew. Still, being out of sorts was the recipe of the day. By the time I got home, I wanted very badly to take a shower and knock myself out. Which I succeeded in doing. :D
Sleep is gooood~
Missed out on badminton today, but sleep is more important at this point in time. XP

I’ve been wanting to compose a poem the whole day…I suppose I will have to get down to business later…haha

During the final hours of BirthWeek 2005, I pause and reflect on the number of things I have done and who shared I shared them with.
Come to think of it, the whole week has been rather taxing on my energy level, (maybe that’s why I kanna fever o.O). Should I extend BirthWeek to BirthWeeks? How bout BirthMonth? –migumi laughter- If the time gets extended, I will be able to meet up with more people and have a bigger excuse not to get my head into my texts…-more migumi laughter- What do you think?

Everyone seems to be falling sick. Roy and Ivan have been hit with bronchitis. I kanna fever (see: up). On the home front, Mum and YKM have been coughing, coughing really badly. Me thinks that asthma is making a come back for YKM. Wonder what is causing all this ‘unwell-ness’… oh gosh~

-takes a deep breath-

I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!
I want to learn to drive!

Heh~ Yes! I love the Ctrl ‘v’ process…

It was a good week!
Thanks for being a part of it!
Cheers! ^-^

P.S.
To all those people whom I did not get to meet up with this week:
We shall have the chance to havoc together! Just let me know when you’re free and where you want to go. Ok?

Movie + movie + movie + movie

“Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered. It is a sword-day; a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now! Ride now! Ride for ruin, and the world's ending! Forth Eorlingas!”

- Theoden to the Rohirrim, before battle at the Pelennor

I’d been depressed for the past 48 odd hours before this morning, but there was and still is fun to be had! To God be the glory!
I spent time with my gula gula Parvy Warvy today. So long since the last time I hung out with her. Shorter hair some more! Ms Parveen and her darling students plus the books she buys for them…if only all teachers were like Parv! *sigh* We went for another all out movie orgy. I sense a trend here...-migumi laughter- Whole day do nothing but pig out and watch movies.
'Herald and Kuma go to White Castle'
'Scary Movie 3'
'Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights'
'Water Boys'
In that order...heh~ The next one will probably be held at my place…I think… heh…can hardly wait man!

Parvy Warvy dearest,
Please let me know when you’re going to be free and so on so forth.
Details are required so as to allow me to submit a proper proposal to my father/family. Have to give them a few days in advance so that I can get approval and stuff for the budget and level of noise pollution that will occur. Not forgetting that small little detail of asking them to find things to do out side of the house so that we can havoc the whole day (ala Get the hack out of our way and give us privacy!)...Kakakakaka~
Oh yah! Thanks for reminding me about the pictures I wanna look for... heh~

My brother down loaded new software into the computer so now the number of things I can do with this C has increased…expect more surprises in the future…I hope… ladida~
Hint: It has something to do with images.

Yang Mui!
How was the DnD? Had fun? How long did you sleep after the event? Haha…want me to kill Geoff for you now? Or do you think he will disappear on his own? Hahaha… Show me pictures! I wanna see pictures!!! XD

BirthWeek rages on…for another two days…buah hahaha~
Cheers! ^-^

Not proportionate

“Where is the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.”

- Theoden before battle at Helm's Deep

“My business is with Isengard tonight, with a rock and stone. Rarum-rum! Come, my friends. The ents are going to war. It is likely that we go to our doom: The last march of the ents!”

- Treebeard, marching on Isengard

"A thing is about to happen which has not happened since the Elder Days: the Ents are going to wake up and find that they are strong."

- Gandalf, to the three hunters

"Behold, I am not Gandalf the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am Gandalf the White, who has returned from death. You have no colour now, and I cast you from the order and from the Council."

- Gandalf casts out Saruman

“I can't do this Sam.”

“I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.”

“What are we holding on to Sam?”

“That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for.”

- Sam to Frodo, at Osgiliath

Heh~
Quite a few quotes eh?

I just came back from my relative's place.
To be precise, my Forth grand-aunt's new house. TKM, Mum and I went there to visit and eat lunch. Buffet...heh~ Her assam sting-ray is good. Full to the max at the moment...haha
Sadly, when I went there I realized that I knew less than half of the people who turned up...oh gosh...

Later~

An equation for the day's lecture

“We cannot get out. We cannot get out. They have taken the Bridge and second hall. Frár and Lóni and Náli fell there... went five days ago... the pool is up to the wall at Westgate. The Watcher in the Water took Óin. We cannot get out. The end comes... drums, drums in the deep... they are coming.”

- The Fall of Moria

“Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to...”

- Frodo to Sam

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. "

- Bilbo at his party

Here's an equation to sum up the lecture today:
Stats + Meena + Noisy Boys + Lack of Sleep - Yang Mui = Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
What do you think?
To tell you the truth, I did not fall asleep, but I was on the brink. Definitely on the edge of doing so.

Went to Plaza Singapura with Shi Min and Cheryl.
Shi Min went to put in money.
Cheryl went to celebrate her friend's birthday.
I went to meet up with Winnie and Pauline to celebrate my birthday. (BirthWeek remember?)
Thanks for the present Winnie! ^-^
Please note that this Winnie is a different girl from the Winnie who invited me to her birthday party. This Winnie is from my primary, secondary school, junior college and my church as well as cell group...(you can go check out her blog -points to the links-)
Ate at Pasta Mania...what did I eat? Same thing I always eat every time I go there...haha...
Wanna guess what that dish is?... Siya and Adeline are not allowed to answer. Buah hahaha~
We talked and talked and walked around. Went to Yamaha to look at keyboards for Pau coz she wants to buy one to bring over to Australia to play while she is studying. She's buying a totally cool instrument. All that cash that is going into that thing had better bring results xia. Looking forward to tinkering around with it when the people send it to her place...which will be in a months time O.o;;; ...haha~

Hey E.T. and Adelyn!
Sorry ah~
Have to go to my 4th Grand-aunt’s place tomorrow….we go out next week can?
Let me know which day you all are free and let me know…I will see what I can do…liaise over the internet or sms…which one you all want to do?

Siya, Adeline, Sheena, Joyce, Yingz and Parveen:
This Saturday how?
You all can make it?
Whose house are we going to?
Mah jong or VCDs?
How?!?!??!
-looks very very very very very stressed-

Time to go charge my phone…I forgot to bring the charger to S.I.M. to put between floors…buah hahhahahaha
BirthWeek carries on! Wooohooo~

Singapore Post Building

“They were once men - great kings of men. Then Sauron the deceiver gave to them nine rings of power. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question. One by one they've fallen into darkness. Now they are slaves to his will. They are the Nazgul, Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead. At all times they feel the presence of the Ring, drawn to the power of the One. They will never stop hunting you.“

- Aragorn to Frodo, concerning the Naz'gul

Met up with Yilinn at the Singapore Post building...why there? Hmm...for a few reasons actually...
1. I have only been there once.
2. It's near to home (Yilinn's and mine)
3. I had to get home early. -.-;;;
Initially we were supposed to meet at Suntec but I decided I din want to go there coz it's too far and I would end up spending less time with her...We had a good time talking and rotting at Long John Silvers...haha...got my ears shocked a few times because of the bell the customers kept ringing...and since that faithful Electrico experience, my hearing has not been the same...X.X'''

We talked and talked and talked and talked...until I forgot the time and had to rush for the bus and onward home...oh well...I look forward to the next meet-up with Yilinn :D
SHOUT OUT TO YILINN:
THANKS FOR THE PRESENT!!!! ^-^
All the best for your up-coming test and jia you for all your projects! Power to you girl!

Went for TKD just now and tried kicking and stuff...ended up lying on the floor almost rolling in agony...ah well...more healing for me to do...more praying as well...but it was all good lah~ I have started teaching my students the yellow belt pattern even though we do not know our results from the grading. As Mr. Chow said: "Imagine that you've passes the grading and learn the pattern for the next belt." Oh gosh...I wonder how I faired for the grading O.O

BirthWeek going strong…

Cheers! ^-^

WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!
WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!
WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!!!!
A CREATED BY GOD...YES INDEEDIE!!!!!!!

Went out to havoc with Yingz and Joyce at Far East...Lunch, shopping (Window shopping for me), walking around and making lots of crazy memories.
I did not buy any clothes until I reached Gio. (As usual) I think they should employ me to be the official ambassador of Gio coz I my cupboard is filled by more than 1/3 by Gio clothes.
"I'm boring, and simple, that's why I like Giordano" Try saying that very loudly at one of the outlets and see what happens...hahaha
I bought 2 blouses. White and Black. (As usual) -migumi laughter-
We did lots of crazy stuff and walked in and out of more shops than I care to count. It came to a point where we had to stop ourselves from looking at clothes for fear that we would end up in the fitting room. Haha~

Late for cell, but had a blast with my members anyway.
I spent the whole day out of my home and ended the day worshiping the Lord. I can't think of a better way to finish off my official turning 20 day.
Cake. Songs. FUN.
I've got more details about the day...but me thinks that they drive you to 'zzzz' land...some otehr time lah...haha
I look forward to seeing all the photos that were taken today.

A huge THANKS to everyone who sent me birthday greetings :) and who played a part in my wonderful day. :D
God bless you all!

Birthday week/BirthWeek 2005 continues…

I will only be 20 once and today marks the beginning of my transition stage of 'limbo' before going into the realm of young adult-hood.
This is my day!

15 x 60 = No. of seconds left

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you too, can become great.
--Mark Twain

15 minutes left...
Man am I bo liao~
Haha...
Clock is still ticking...

ChEeRs~

180 minutes to go...

“But they were, all of them, deceived, for another Ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring, to control all others. And into this Ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. "One Ring to rule them all." One by one, the Free Lands of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. A Last Alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor and on the slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth. Victory was near. But the power of the Ring could not be undone.”

- Galadriel, telling of the Last Alliance

Another 3 hours to go...
The week is upon me...I shall take full advantage of it!
I just realized... my havoc week should be called Birthweek instead of Birthday week right?
Heh~

The only classes I have for this week are IBM and Stats...both classes have assignments for me to do...oh gosh~
I will do my IBM before the morning of Tuesday comes.
With God's help I will!
Zipididoda~

Last year, I celebrated my birthday with Mom and TKM at Suntec. We ate Sizzler...this year, Daddy got to join in the fun. Ordered KFC home delivery. :D
THANKS MUMMY!

Still watching LOTR like crazy...hahaha...

I shall type again when I grow older...
Ladidididida~
Cheers!

Birthday Week 05' begins...

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

- The One Ring

Whew~
Long day...just came back from dinner with relatives. I drank some wine and plenty of Sprite. Food was good. My ears have been assailed. I no longer hear clearly...the karaoke was very 'old'... 5 birthdays in January. Including mine. It has occurred to me that for one day in the whole year, my cousin Regina, gets to be the same age as me. All thanks to the fact that her birthday is one day before mine. Heh~

Happy Birthday Regina!
Enjoy the last year of your teens.
I know I did. ^-^

Let Birthday Week begin!!!!!!!!!!!
Mayham and madness shall be the orders of the week!!!!!!
Muah hahahhahhahahah~
Cheers! ^-^

My second grading. ^-^

"I will take the Ring," he said, "though I do not know the way."

Elrond raised his eyes and looked at him, and Frodo felt his heart pierced by the sudden keenness of the glance. "If I understand aright all that I have heard," he said, "I think that this task is appointed for you, Frodo; and that if you do not find a way, no one will. This is the hour of the Shire-folk, when they arise from their quiet fields to shake the towers and counsels of the Great. Who of all the Wise could have foreseen it? Or, if they are wise, why should they expect to know it, until the hour has struck?"
- At the Coucil of Elrond

Heeha~
Just came back from Heartland Mall...
Grading was good, though I think I should and could have kicked higher...very proud of my club members and friends for doing so well at the grading.
Genevieve was the only one to be doing white belt pattern, her kicking was very high...higher than her usual during trainings.
Farah, Desmond, Hayden, Germaine, Chen Qing and Elaine made up the pack doing yellow-tip pattern...they all proved themselves worthy of being promoted. The joke of the day would be the part where Elaine got taken out of the group to do the pattern on her own ...in front of everyone....I think because she told the guy in charge that she wanted to get a double promotion...oh well...at least she did not throw face that far. Xp
Yong Jet really surprised me with the height of his kicks and jumps. His sparing was very the xiong and I pity his opponent. He will make a very zia black belter when the time comes.
Jill has a very cute scream. At the end of her pattern, she was required to shout, and her sound was very much like that of a charging hamster. Really...I not joking...
Ticha, Ferlyn and Jacky did their sparing with much force and I think both Ticha and Ferlyn will end up with blue blacks for a week at least...heh~
Rachel did better for this grading than the last one coz she was able to remember all the actions and even used a combination of kicks when sparing...the last time was more like a comedy...we laughed until our sides hurt...but that’s a another story for a another time.
Hui Fen 'sat' for her pom-belt grading and she had to spar with two girls as well as do 2 extra patterns other than her own...I look forward to seeing her wear the new uniform. :)
Li Hua and I were the only ones doing our pattern. Which means to say that she is the only one with green-tip, and I am the only one doing yellow belt pattern. I guess it is harder and more stressful when one is doing the pattern without any other friends to be there to share the stress of patterns in question.
Sian Li and Karen were the only two who did not take grading coz they don really have to. Sian Li is going for the centralized grading at Toa Payoh and Karen is already 2nd dan. So they come and help out with pattern checking lor…I live for the day when I can do that man…actually I already started doing that...buah hahahaha…
Elmo came down to help out with the grading. He entered army last December and has since lost quite a bit if weight and hair :P. Not only that, he looks more and more like a monk…ok make that a very dark monk…I some how expected him to go sit in a corner and start meditating…heeh~
What I am thankful to God for is that the whole thing is over and I get to learn a new pattern for the next grading which takes place in April.

After we all finished our gradings, we took quite a few pictures for the poster and I bought a new collar pin. :D Weeeeeeeee….so fun~
The meeting which took place right after that lasted for about 1 hour. Official stuff here and there and everywhere. ( As secretary, I have to type the minutes…so I guess I will have to do it later X.x)
When that was done, we trooped to Burger King for lunch… Mmmmm… Mushroom Swiss….I like.....-dreamy look-
Walking towards NTUC, I ran in Joyce... who happened to be meeting up with Yingz… it’s a small world after all~
Went to NTUC with Sian Li to buy milk and den took that long walk home.
I sense trend, I have a feeling that the same thing will happen in 3 months time O.o Hahaha…

I will be putting getting on my headless chicken for the next few hours.
Badminton. Rush home. Bathe. Rush out to have with dinner with relatives.

What a start to my birthday week.
Hence forth, the week which my birthday falls on shall be known as Birthday Week and I shall try to meet up with as many friends as possible and havoc till my head spins… yeehaaaa~ Bring it on man!

See you later Joshua Korq!

I wonder what kind of drinks I will sample later….hahahha
Cheers! ^-^

Less than 72

"He who breaks a thing to find out what it is, has left the path of wisdom."
- Gandalf

“One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly.”

- Boromir at the Council of Elrond

"I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you I will not let the White City fall, nor our people fail."

"Our people, our people! I would have followed you to the end... my brother... my captain... my king!"

"Be at peace, Son of Gondor."

- Aragorn to Boromir as he dies

Me very the lei.
Tomorrow is grading day.
My second grading.
I need to get my sleep.

Less than 72 hours to blast off...heh~
Let the planning continue!
Muah hahahhahahaha...
Cheers! ^-^

I live in a world of colour

“"I am a servant of the Secret Fire, Wielder of the Flame of Anor; you cannot pass. The dark fire will not avail you, Flame of Udun! Go back to the Shadow. You cannot pass!” he said. With a bound, the Balrog leaped full upon the bridge. Its whip whirled and hissed.
“He cannot stand alone!” cried Aragorn suddenly and ran back along the bridge.

“Elendil!” he shouted. “I am with you Gandalf!”
“Gondor!” cried Boromir and leaped after him.
- The Bridge of Khazad-dum

Colour!
Colour!
The computer finally has colour!
Woohoooooooooooo~
Don misinterpret me, the computer did have colour before but only 68 of them...now the complete rainbow is here! ;D
Thanks Korkor!!!
Now all the computer needs is sound...heh~
Hrm....come to think about it...the computer seems slower with the colours all in...so what would you go for? Speed or colour?
-feels the headache coming-
O.olll

Tuition just now was good. For once my student was on time. Haha...
Even better than her being on time - The next lesson is in 2 weeks!

Plans for the next week

“It's a pity Bilbo didn't kill him when he had the chance.”
“Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.”

“I wish The Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had ever happened.”
“So do all who live to face such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”

- Gandalf to Frodo, in the Mines of Moria

Gosh~
What a day!
I feel like I am on the brink of being totally wasted.
My brain feels like mush and my body is not listening to my brain...shesh~...my legs should be put in the fridge to make them more solid...coz right now they are jelly-o.
Slept at 1.30am last night after finally getting my sociology essay written and the morning came and brought with it the missing of a 62. Thankfully another one arrived not more than 5 minutes after that. :)
Freakfast with Yang Mui and Shi Min show all of us stoning...well, me and Yang Mui anyway...Shi Min was fully awake because of someone who was sitting 3 tables in front of us. -migumi laughter-
Desmond joined my lecture group for sociology lecture as well as economics today...so we chatted here and there about what and what not plus what what and TKD... (If it's not occurring to you by now...my brain happens to be in stand-by mode)
I accidentally tripped Shi Min in the sociology lecture theatre, she did not fall, but I fell right after that...before econs lecture, Shi Min fell on the stair case... O.o;;;;
Sociology lecture was good...I think I managed to get information into my skull...
Economics was the opposite...me thinks I had better start doing the study group/ pair thingy again... the mocks are coming! ArGh ~ x.Xlll
After school, Long Jie and I went to Heartland Mall to look at Yvonne eat her KFC...she asked us to join her mah~ Haha...
Upon returning home, I was whisked out of the estate by TKM and Korkor to NTUC to buy groceries.
The tired Sharon trudged up the four flights of stairs with all the bags and stumbled into the bathroom. Dinner.
Which brings me to this faithful seat and keyboard with fingers typing words that keep being spelt wrongly. Wah sian diao ah~
-cry of anguish and tiredness-

Tomorrow got tuition in the morning and then have to travel to GEC for BCM meeting and dinner with my teaching peeps...
Sunday :
- GRADING!!!!!!!!! O.O
- Dinner with relatives...
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH!!!!

The countdown continues...
4 days left of being 19 years old.
(Sing-a-long time!)
Tiiiimmee tooooo saaay gooodbyyyeee...
To my teenage years...
They have held very bad memories and extremely good ones. Thank God for my STM, if not I would be a very³ depressed person at the moment.
Hack! I might not even be here now if not for God, my family and the friends God gave me.
The first few teenage years were pure and unadulterated H-E-L-L. But the last 3 years have been the opposite and I guess I have struck a balance in my life and have hopefully become a better person.
A big THANK YOU to all my friends who helped me through my bad, down, horrible and utterly f***ed-up times.
God bless you all!

Msgs:

Getting to type

“She said to me, even now, there is hope left, but I cannot see it. It is long since we had any hope. My father is a noble man, but his rule is failing, and our people lose faith. He looks to me to make things right and I would do it. I would see the glory of Gondor restored. Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The White Tower of Ecthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze. Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?”

“I have seen the White City, long ago.”

“One day, our paths will lead us there and the tower guard will take up the call: The Lords of Gondor have returned!”

- Boromir to Aragorn, at nightfall in Lothlorien

Now begins the start of LOTR quotes. Long have I looked upon these words and thought of the deep they bring. Tis' time for you to join me in the journey.

I wanted to write yesterday but I was too 'wasted' from training to get myself to type...double training can wreck havoc on the body even if one does nothing but pattern the whole time.
The morning was spent with my Dad going from RELC to Harbor Front to pay my UOL exam fees and collect stuff.
I like Harbor Front. It's so nice and windy. Very refreshing to have wind blowing in your hair instead of fumes form cars...like at Orchard...
Met Siya on the way home at Heartland Mall...message for her will come later. :)
Writing is one thing, I did manage to drag myself to the computer to check my e-mails and chat with Yang Mui and Joshua. ^-^

Ended up being very tired when I went to school just now...me and Yang Mui did the yawning thing...heh~
When I got home, I screwed up. I totally screwed up. I hope I don make that mistake again...

Miscommunication is a very dangerous thing.
It can break down relationships in the blink of an eye and cause much pain the process.
It can cause wars.
Death too.
Tears are a given.
Why does miscommunication take place?
Why does it keep happening?
I am not alone in the world of being misdirected. I know I am not.
I just wish I could help lessen the hurt which my friends have gone through.

Tomorrow is the deadline for my sociology essay...have to finish it by tonight!
I shall finish it! -cry of anguish- ARGH~
God give me strength!

To quote Siya:
"....well i met sharon and her dad while going home, and what i can say is, "sharon, you really look like ur dad". mahahahahah!! especially the eyeeeeesssss~~~ well and thanks for reminding me that ur birthday is next week! (so that i have time to think of ways to make ur day miserab.. i mean, memorable =p) let's go CELEBRATE!!!! "
Well Siya, it's nice to know that you're eye-sight has not been affected by looking at the computer the whole day XP.
I like your phone arh~ So 'hwah'...first time I see such a pink yet not that pink phone... which brings me to...re you getting obsessed with that colour? What's next in becoming pink? Your hair?
Thanks, I am a carbon copy of my Dad :)
When you free next week? Mahjong? Mahjong? Movie? Mahjong? Hang out? Watch VCDs? Ideas? I know! How bout mahjong? XD
I really wanna go out. It would make growing older a little easier to bear. Confirm!

Dominic!
Oh yah~ okok...how are you? How in the world did you find my blog? Hrm...how's army? Where you kanna drafted to?

Hey Yang Mui...
-passes the jia jia liang teh-
Don stress yourself out too much...your scaring me... try to think more happy thoughts ya? If all else fails...I can help you 'get rid' of Geoff... - migumi laughter- Then again, I don think that would be of much help...I think I will just pass you a huge chunk of my 'chi'...[down loading now...] You want sleeping pills to go along with that? For more restful sleep...it's not the quatity but the quality...
-passes more jia jia liang teh-

OK!
-picks up pen-
Time to do the essay!
...alamak~ only 5 more days... X.X

Poly clinic knee

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
--Eleanor Roosevelt

Just came back from the poly clinic.
WAH SIAN DIAO AH!
Thank God got Auntie Mag there to help me get the number, if not I wait until kingdom come still haven see the doctor yet. =.=;;; As it is, TKM and I waited for more than an hour and that's not including the
The doctor said that my knee should be fine in about a month of so coz she thinks that it's just a torn ligament. I asked for a referral so as to get an x-ray to check out what's wrong with the knee (for future precaution and a sound mind) but she said that it would probably take about 3 months before I went for the appointment and by then my knee would have been healed, therefore no point asking for one lor. *hai* Singapore heath system ah~
Any how, thank God all the same :)
The doctor's said that I am to lay off jumping and carrying heavy stuff for a while. Got cream to rub on my knee to get rid of the pain. At least I don have to go for a surgery. Hohohoho...
She also said that I should lay off TKD for a while until my knee is ok.
Ha! As if I am going to listen to her... Ladida~

This Sunday is my second grading, did I tell you that?
Well, it is. :) Very excited about the grading coz at least this time I know what the procedure is and I know what to expect. The butterflies are still there but I know God is going to be there to help me be the best I can be for the test.
I don care how painful the kicking might be, as long as I do my best. :)

Amendment of the day:
I have been spelling someone's name wrongly without knowing it...
The guy who got kicked in the back by Alfred.
The black belter at the CC.
His name is not Gerald but Jared.
Paiseh -_-;;

Finished watching my The Lord Of The Rings VCD with Dad last night. Haha...watching the whole thing brings back crazy memories of what I did two years ago with Ying Ying and the people whom we met there while we went to catch the extended versions on the big screen.
For example, I brought my blanket with me to watch Two Towers.
Yeap! You read it right; I brought my blanket to watch the movie, all due to the fact that I almost was near becoming a human popsicle while watching the Fellowship. It was very cozy :D Like having my own private screening. A piece of home at Plaza Singapura. Hahaahaha...

One more week before I turn 20. ArGh~~~~~~~~~
SIAO LIAO AH!!!!!

Who is Dominic?
Post crazy Ctrl 'v' on my tag board.
Trying to copy me izzit?

Siya ah!~
When you going to be free?
Who you wanna jio to play?
Don play money ok, my poor heart and wallet can not take the output of cash in that manner liao....will cry until my eyes turn blue. o.O
One request:
Can you make your tag board screen/window bigger?
I have a hard time scrolling up and down on that small pathetic window...
My eyes can not take it liao... =.o;;;
Oh yeah! I can't wait to take a look at your new phone :)

Tonight going to celebrate the birthdays in my cell group for the month of Jan...got four. Auntie April, Auntie Grace, Uncle Alan and me.
There are also 4 Sharons in my IBM lecture...i shudder to think what Nana would say if he found out that my name was Sharon... never has there been a time such as this where i haven forgotten what my name was.
Do you think I would be looking forward to next week's IBM lecture?
Don worry Yang Mui, I will try and let you know before hand what I am going to wear to class so you will not attract attention to yourself with the orange on black Sharons back ground...can't speak for Ngiam and Q though...haha...see your luck how. :p

Looking forward to tonight. Leading worship with Winnie...woohoo~

Going out with Daddy tomorrow morning to pay the UOL fees at RELC den we going to go town and pick up things and den to Harbour front to pick up some more things....hahha....pick up day with out a car...heh~

I suddenly feel sleepy...-yawn-
Cheers with a pillow and bolster!

Something's wrong with me

Cats, by means of their whiskers, seem to possess something like an additional sense: these have, perhaps, some analogy to the antennae of moths and butterflies.
--Rev. W. Bingley

i feel an ache in my chest.
What is that?
Why is that?

Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Short hair and spikes

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
--Mahatma Gandhi

Tis' the end of the day and I still can't seem to get things right.
-sigh-
oh well, I never said I was perfect.

Still haven done the IBM assignment.
Still haven written the sociology essay.
Still yi zhi ban jie about economics.

Go on, say it, I know you want to.

Tomorrow is Friday. End of the first week for 2005. First Friday of 2005. OMGosh~ I am going to be 20 in less than 12 days. X.X
Let the screaming begin.

Yang Mui commented in class today that I have been going on a blogging spree. I don't disagree with her one bit. I also wonder why I am blogging so much all of a sudden. I think it must have something to do with the fact that I am avoiding my assignments. (See: up)
In any case, the need to study for the exams is becoming greater, and as that need grows, I will have to make sacrifices and me suppose that blogging will be one of them blot-outs. Rest assured, I will not completely cut it out of my life...heh~

-wobbles around-
-almost falls-
*hwew!*

Did I mention that TKM bought hair gel for me?
I tried out some hair styles before I jumped into the shower. :D The looks I came up with range from Mohawk to pineapple to wet puppy and even durian...woohoo~ Spikes rule!
I wonder what reactions I will get when I step into school tomorrow morning.
-migumi laughter-

-more migumi laughter-
-falls onto the floor-
*wah*

Time for tomorrow~
Cheers! ^-^

A dream, my knee and screeaaming

Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a Heaven for?
--Robert Browning

-wobbles to the computer-

Will be going to school in about half an hour, so I might as well steal the computer from TKM and write some stuff down...
Had a very disturbing dream last night.
Concerned one of my friends, in particular, someone who hardly uses the internet.
I really hope it does not happen for real.
Then again, I can't tell the future can I?

My knee is going going going again.
Will be going to get a referral from the poly clinic next week, maybe Tuesday.
Still praying.

Have to pay UOL exam fees.
Have to finish sociology assignment.
Have to start IBM assignment.

-takes a DEEP breath-

ARRRRRRRHGHHGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...........~

-wobbles around screaming-
-falls-
*wah*

TKM just told me she wants to take a bus ride with me to SIM just to try out the noodles... O.O

Bai ka training

The butterfly is a flying flower, the flower a tethered butterfly.
--Ecouchard Le Brun

-hobbles over to the computer-

Went for training at the CC today.
Mr. Chow din allow me to do any kicking and all for good cause. Anyway I could not kick at all, my knee did not allow me to do so...but I will continue to go for training coz the grading takes place in less than two weeks time. O.O
Got new student at the CC, his name is Fu Ling and he took taekwondo last time, but he has forgotten all of the patterns liao...so he will be doing a lot of revision work ...heh...totally cool that there's a new person around my age...he totally made my day when he said that he though I was still studying in secondary school. It was rather surreal telling him that I am 20 this year. OH MY GOSH! Did I just say that?!?! Alamak~ I am going to be 20 this year...Noooooooooooooo~

Hellsing on Arts Central! Go Alucard go! Integra is the coolest knight around...heh~

Some way and some how, I will have to get myself to sleep earlier.

What do you think?

Dear Ivan,
Had a good time at the party?
Sorry I could not be there.
Enjoy the dinner tomorrow night, I'm sure the place will be posh. :)

Poetry : Over and changing

Out of my head.
Yes you are.
Happy am I to be free.
At last.
You turn up and I blink.
Life goes on as usual.

Gatherings.
Would I want to go?
Do you even care?
Would you want me there?
Do I care?
Time.

Bright.
Future that is.
Am I bluffing myself?
Am I for real?
Truth.

What is there cannot be seen.
Irony of all the world.
Touch can heal and words kill but sound is an unreliable key.
Rolling here and over there.
Jumping over trees and streams.
One day some day, not so soon.

I'm still here.

Poetry : Dreamer-girl

Love
One so deep I would drown in it
Willingly
So profound even time would stand still
So immense I'd be speechless
Till my heart overflows
So warm I'd burn
That cringe in your chest
The stuff books are made of
They are just words
Feelings would not stand for them.
As much as I would like
I have yet to or will never touch that
Tears do fall for the pain.
Useless as they are.
Do I really need emotions?
I can dream can't I.

I've been sitting on this piece of writing for a very long time...so much so, I don really remember everything very clearly...but these are the words I wrote down when I came back from Australia last year...enjoy! ^-^

Now onto my memories of Perth: Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!

“The best life is led horizontal" - Chris Fey
That's a slogan I saw on a huge billboard when I visited Perth.

My two aunts and I plus my elder aunt's friend left for Perth on the 14th of July.
Walking out of Perth International Airport is one of the few vivid memories I have of Australia. The moment one steps out of the place, winter wind assails the lungs and your slapped alive or awake by the freshness of the air. I love the air over there. So clean and non-wet unlike humid countries.
The clouds are like those of any Simpsons episode...you can literally hear the opening music of the cartoon as you drive along the roads.
One thing I look forward to seeing when I go overseas is the stars coz you can't see much on mainland Singapore due to the bright lights everywhere. Unfortunately, due to the rain, most of the time I could not see the stars at night. :(

My notebook of my experience there is filled with lots of bullet points to describe how I felt at a particular time, coz I know I am long winded...he...

Basically, we went to various shopping malls everyday and bought so much stuff that we had to get cardboard boxes to keep them in coz our suit cases where not big enough to contain everything.
I bought clothes....ran into Esther, who is studying there at the moment...played the role of being a porter for my aunts' sake... watched lots of TV...fell sick...watched the All Blacks trash the Aussie team ^-^...met up with my aunt's friends who are now living in Perth...ate alot of Chinese food...visited UWA (University of Western Australia)...did lots of walking...spoke lots of teochew and chinese...did not get enough sleep...

Stepping into a soap opera.
That's just how I feel when I go to Ang Mor countries for holidays. The sensation is not very acute when I visit Australia. Maybe because I’ve been there so many times...but it was rather surreal when I visited America a few years back. I have a feeling I feel that way because of all the television programmes we get in Singapore. Most of them come from America or Canada ya? Hence the concept of literally stepping into one of the shows u usually watch on the tube. Why? Because everyone there (other than the people you travel with) speaks with that yanky-doodle-ya-ya tongue. I must say it took some getting used to when I was there...but by the time I got myself accustomed to the sounds...I had to fly home for Christmas... ha-ha.

What is it about Singapore that makes it so different from other countries?
The government?
The races?
The attitudes of the people?
The education which students receive?
The food?
The housing?
Water?
Weather?
Sex?
Sizes?
Architecture?
Geography?
Language?
Transport?
Television programmes?
Sports?
Literature?
Animals?
Brains?
Lighting?
Shopping?
Currency?
History?
What?
Anyone got any ideas on that?

Ok...I got to that point and hit writer's block...so that's all I wrote in the end... hopefully I will get to go to Australia again and bring back more memories :D so now i ask: When? Which part? Anyone wanna join me?

Bring in 2005, please?

"May there always be work for your hands to do, may your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine on your windowpane, may a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you, may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."
- Irish Blessing

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2005!!!!!!!

How did you celebrate your new year?
Have a good time?
Who did you spend it with?
What time did you get home arh? *tsk-tsk*

I spent my count-down to New Year at church. The Thanksgiving/ Watch-night service was rather boring coz everything was very choppy and there were performances from the different regions. The testimonies were good and I praise God for all the blessings He has blessed us all with in 2004.
My cell group sang together in front of the congregation and Jeff said a few words in testimony to God's great power and love for our cell group. I guess he was kind of nervous coz he started blabbering and told the whole church that I take taekwondo. =.-;; Now whole church knows...aiyo~

On New Year's Day itself, I went to GEC to meet up with the BCM people to go to the National Stadium for the Arise kids evangelical thingy. It was very fun and wonderful to see children of all ages worshipping the Lord in so many ways.

After taking the bus back to GEC with the kids, I hitched a ride with Elsie jie and switched to a 70 in order to make it to Suntec to meet Pauline. Pauline introduced me to her friend whom she met in Australia where she is currently studying. I didn't have enough time to make a really deep impression of him but I think he’s a not bad guy lah...he gave us a lift to the Esplanade after we had dinner. Thanks dude!
Thank God it did not rain yesterday evening because the outdoor performance area was the venue for the gigs.
I watched Corrinee May and Electrico sing their lungs out and it was a total blast!
Corrinee May has a very beautiful voice and her song lyrics are very meaningful. Add those elements to a piano and you've got sure fire route to the top of the charts. Heh~
Electrico... heard of them before? :p
They are a Singapore band and they are goooooood.
Which is a very big compliment coming from me coz I don think much of Singapore bands. I tend to view Singapore inde bands as people who are slackers and jam for their own pleasure and in truth CMI but act as if they can...but that's just my opinion.
They jumped around on stage and rocked the 'house' down. The beats and grooves got everyone present on their feet and dancing like it was Zouk Out 2005. :)
Since everyone always has a favorite member of the band I just go ahead and say that the geeky bass guy, whose name is Desmond is very cool and the electric guitar fella whose name I can't remember, appeals to me in the looks department. Heh~ They sang their own songs and covers of other bands like Green Day and Tears for Fears. Bloody good xia~
Maybe I will go pick up their album. :D
The whole gig was a blast too because I was sitting next to the speakers. No joke ok. Not exactly very fun to have one's ears blasted out by the mega amps with guitars and drums going at full blast and on over drive.
Our ears were so whacked out by the end of the event that Pauline and I ended up shouting at each other on the way home. X) Thankfully my ears are now back to normal...at least I think they are~ O.o
While I was there I ran into lots of people, mainly from church...Jeff and his family, Alvin Wan, Elaine, Paul, Winston, etc... Alvin is also studying at SIM, he's in his 3rd year liao so he is lucky that he will soon leave the arena of Nana and Meena...-hoot- He introduced me to a friend of his who is also from SIM and we had a fun time goofing about and talking about the infamous Nana. Heh~

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, during the training that I injured my leg, Gerald hurt his back. How did he hurt his back?
Well, it went like this:
Gerald partnered Alfred for target practice. Towards the end of the session, he did something accidental which made Alfred very angry (I will let you go use your imagination)... so Alfred with all his pent up rage, kicked Gerald in the back. That's how Gerald got injured. That trooped Alfred. -shakes head-

Update on my knee:
Still hurts and still can’t walk properly...should I go see a doctor about it?

Sociology assignment due: 07/01/2005
IBM assignment due: Not sure
Economics test: 07/01/2005
I still have yet to start doing my sociology and IBM assignments. Plus I have no info on econs in my head at the moment o.O;;; Siao liao~

I love rain. Nuff said.

As I told my cell group last week:
Even though so many bad things have taken place, I still have high hopes for 2005. And remember, Hope is a good thing.

I really have no clue as how things will progress but I still believe that things can only get better.

Have a great 2005 everyone!
Cheers! ^-^

After thought:
OMG!!!!!!
I'm going to be 20 soon. O.O'''
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......~!!!!!
